Aerobatics G-BFHP

On the 19th of May i turned up to Barton for my lunch. Just as i was about to leave i saw Neil Kent one of the shareholders in Bartons Citabria G-BFHP. Neil asked if i wanted to do some aerobatics and i jumped to the chance. I got my headset out of the car and made my way over to the aircraft. G-HP had already been checked and was ready to go. I got myself in to the backseat and Neil in to the front we strapped ourselves in and shut the door and was ready to start the engine.

Safe Guardin or POVA?

P.O.V.A
As many of you know I (like many others) support people with moderate and severe learning disabilities.  Being a support worker you have to go on different types of training like many other jobs, working for Services in care you have to go on Mandatory training and POVA is one of them.

Cyclone Mobility

As many of you know my cousin Lewis was in a car crash two years ago and he was paralyzed from the waist down from about T8 to T9. He received treatment from Royal Manchester Children's Hospital for around two months before he was moved up to Southport Regional Spinal Unit where he stayed for a further 6 months. Lewis was discharged from the hospital Christmas Eve of 2009but went for regular check ups before he went back to school in the Febuary. Lewis still attends Southport but on a 6monthly basis just for check ups.

GyroCopter Experience

Last Saturday i turned up to Barton EGCB for a flight in a Gyro Copter.  The weather was fantastic you could see Winterhill as you drove up to the airfield the wind was blowing straight down 27 at around 10knts. I turned in to flight academy and was greeted by Phil Robinson the owner and Roger Savage the Gyro instructor. We made are way in to Phil's office (caravan) and started to talk about the flight and our background in aviation. Roger told me he had been flying Gyro copters since man first walked the planet and he had thousands of hours flying them he had been all over the country and had his own little airstrip in the lake district where he hangered his own gyro. He has been teaching Phil around 18 months how to fly and instruct in the gyro.
